Step into our backyard and experience the rich local flavours of the Matakana Coast. Just an hour north of the City of Sails (Auckland) lies a captivating wine country dotted with humble towns, vast coastlines, dense native forest and proud local businesses.

Our Auckland to Matakana Private Luxury Tour begin at a time suitable for you (we suggest around 9am) when we collect you in our air-conditioned luxury vehicle from your Auckland accommodation. We will take a short one-hour drive along-side the sweeping Hibiscus Coast to where you can experience some of rural New Zealand. Green rolling hills speckled with white sheep give way to a stunning Regional Park which contains rich wildlife, a stunning golden sandy beach lined with native Pohutukawa (Christmas) trees. Choose to either sprall out and take a rest on the beach, take a dip in the calm turquoise waters, have morning tea underneath the mighty Pohutukawa trees or start your adventure off with a brisk morning hike through the surrounding native forest with jaw-dropping views over the Hauraki Gulf.

We will then make our way to the quaint village of Puhoi where your tastebuds will be treated to carefully crafted cheese at a well-known local Café and Cheese Factory. View locals at work making delectable cheeses that you will have the opportunity to enjoy while taking in the scenic pound and lush hillsides surroundings.

After a fill of creamy cheeses and good kiwi company we will take you to an enchanting hillside vineyard where you can wet your pallet with some of the finest wines the land has to offer. You will experience a multitude of grape varieties in a pleasantly relaxed environment. If you’re hungry for some more there is the option of dining at their accompanying restaurant which serves fresh local cuisine including many ingredients hand-picked from their surrounding gardens.

To satisfy your sweet tooth we can buzz by the local honey center where you can witness the honey bees at work behind viewing panels. Sample different honey products and learn about all the medicinal and savoury uses of our local honey.

After experiencing all the diverse regional tastes we will take a stroll along a hidden wooden walkway through dense forest that is home to 800 year old Kauri trees, as well as some of the region's unique flora and fauna. Learn firsthand about our cherished native environment in the refreshing cool shade the green forest ceiling provides.

We will conclude the day with a scenic drive back into Auckland, where we will drop you at your Auckland accommodation, cruise ship (or other location) at about 5pm. Please note again that we can easily customise pick-up and drop-off times, so please just ask us!
