We take you away from the crowds and along paths uncharted even by the most comprehensive guidebooks and deep into our timeless Waitakere Ranges rainforest. Walk through lush valleys and steep yourself in the fresh scents and the pure sounds of the bush.

Scale dramatic rocky outcrops to drink in eye-misting, breathtaking views. Hike along windswept coastal cliffs and leave your footprints on wild and deserted black sand beaches. Feel the wind in your hair and the salt sea spray on your face. Auckland Wilderness Walking Tours (full day) highlights include: 

• The Waitakere Ranges, known to local Maori as Te Wao Nui a Tiriwa, or the great forests of Tiriwa, in memory of one of their esteemed ancestors. Time stands still in this ancient rainforest which is home to rare native flora and fauna, towering native trees (including our mighty Kauri trees), secret waterfalls and pristine streams.
• The wild West Coast with its sheer soaring cliffs and rare black sand beaches where the mighty Tasman Sea rolls in.
• Picnic lunch (included in the price!) in a secluded bush glade, in a dramatic cliff top clearing or in a sheltered beachside cove.

Our full day Auckland Wilderness Walking Tours include - like all our tours - FREE pickup in central Auckland.  We look forward to hosting you for a great day out with us!
