  • Visit Arataki (Pathways to Learning) Visitor Centre at the gateway to Auckland's famous West Coast with its soaring cliffs, roaring surf and spectacular, volcanic black sand beaches;

On our Auckland Maori Luxury Tour & Cultural Performance your Kaiarahi Maori (Maori guide) is well versed and experienced in Maori culture, traditions and history. Our guides know and love Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland) and Aotearoa (New Zealand) with the passion of a true insider and we are equally passionate about sharing Maori culture and our turangawaewae (homeland) with you!

Visit the stunning Auckland Museum and the chance to see their great Maori Cultural Performance (extra entry fee included in our tour price). Here you will have the unique opportunity to experience the famous Haka War Dance and many other interesting things about Maori culture, plus explore the Maori Gallery and Polynesian section of the beautiful Auckland Museum.

Auckland Maori Culture Tour & Cultural Performance (full day) include: 

• Te Wao Nui o Tiriwa, (the ancient forest of Tiriwa) the indigenous forest that covers the Waitakere Ranges to the west of Auckland. You’ll walk among unique indigenous trees and plants, learn their Maori names and their importance as both food and medicine. You’ll meet some of our shy bush-dwelling native birds. Hear the lore and legends of the bush.

• Te Taihauauru,
the famous ‘Wild West Coast’ with its unique black sand beaches, windswept cliffs and roaring surf.

Takarunga (Mount Victoria) in Devonport, the final resting place of Patuone, one of the chief negotiators and signatories of Aotearoa/ New Zealand’s founding document.

Tamaki Drive, one of the world's most beautiful city drives with its avenues of glorious native trees and views to the mystical island volcano, Rangitoto.

Tour Inclusions:

Also included: Pick up from Auckland Central, all transport, lunch plus snacks and refreshments, full day Auckland Maori Culture Tour, plus all taxes and park fees.

Times: Pick up from your central Auckland accommodation at 9am and return at 5pm.

Please bring: Walking shoes, sun hat, sunscreen, swimming gear (in summer), your camera and a smile.

Age Information:

  • Adults are from 12 years
  • Children's age is between 4 and 11 years
  • Infants age is 0-3 years (Please note: we are only able host infants on our Private Tours)
  • Our Private Tours can be for any number of guests

  • Accommodation, Attractions/Entry Fees and Meals (unless specified) are not included;
  • All tours are able to be booked as Auckland Shore Excursions from Cruise ships berthed at the port of Auckland;
  • All our Private Tours can be offered in foreign languages such as German, French, Spanish and others but are subject to availability and additional fees apply. Please request this additional service at the time of booking along with any other special client requirements (i.e. dietary requirements, mobility issues, medical information / equipment requests, children’s ages for NZ child seat rules, special reasons for travel, etc);
  • On Private Tours, pick-up and drop-off locations can be from your designated accommodation, airport, cruise ship or other location. Please specify the location when booking. When pick-up is from a designated meeting place including cruise ship terminal or airport, we would really appreciate receiving your mobile phone number with the booking. This will ensure we are able to contact and locate you if required, when we are not picking up directly from your accommodation.

Our Different Tour Types:

Small Group Tours are operated on a non-exclusive basis with other guests min 2 pax and max 15 pax and are priced on a per person basis.

Private Tours are operated exclusively for our guests and are priced per day per passenger for any group size from 1 pax to any number required.

Please note: when we incorporate visits to attractions on Private Tours (these must be specifically stated as included, otherwise entry fees to attractions are NOT included on our Private Tours), these may or may not be private depending on what is booked. Our Private Tours on the other hand will be private just for your party.
