Daniel is originally from Switzerland. He spent the whole of 1973 on a working-holiday and back-packing throughout New Zealand and immediately loved the diversity of the country. Upon marrying his Kiwi girl-friend in Switzerland they returned in 1977 to settle in Auckland and start a family.
Except for a few years working for a large corporation Daniel has been self-employed since 1986, his last venture was the management of a successful motel specialising in international guests . Daniel has travelled extensively for business and leisure throughout all of Europe including Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and Moscow, north-west USA and western Canada as well as the Pacific Islands. He is of French mother-tongue and fluent in German and Italian. Daniel feels privileged to share his enthusiasm for all things kiwi with independent visitors to New Zealand.
His hobbies include nature and birds photography, golf, travel and discovering off the beaten track landscapes and villages in the North Island on his motorcycle.
